I really should remember to take before pictures of my projects but the truth is I get too excited to get started and most of the time forget. It’s a shame I can’t show you because it makes the transformation all the more exciting. It was fugly!! Dark wood, dusty and covered in blobs of wax. It did however have great lines.
I really wanted to experiment with this piece. Using different sized and shaped brushes for each colour, I dry brushed Duck Egg, French linen and Coco on ( waiting for each layer to dry before adding the next).
As the colour combination developed I realized it was starting to look like verdigris copper. So I broke out the metallic paint to take it a step further:
Martha Stewart Metallic Glaze in Copper and Crown metallic in Refresh were dry brushed on using small artists brushes.
I’m pretty happy with the result. What do you think?
